Yes, we have all heard of double-sided tape at one point or another, but who ever thought it could be used to create a double eyelid for Asian people. Yes, this product is primarily for Asian people who do not have double lids (another clue...it's made in Japan), but can also be used by those who want to enhance and create a larger crease. I've read other reviews stating this product is subtle, but I've found it to be slightly better than subtle because with practice, you can adjust the size of your crease and make the direction flow differently. Again, this is all about practice makes perfect. If you look at other double eyelid tapes on the market, you will find them to be incomparible after trying this product because the others are NOT double-sided, NOT long-lasting and do not have the correct accessories for application purposes. Not only does this product provide small white tongs to create, apply and seal the tape to the lid, but the shape of the tape is a decent size in width. It is also thin at both ends and slightly thicker towards the middle section without seeming unnatural.
When you're actually applying the product, you have to make sure your skin is clean and dry so the adhesive can stick longer. Make sure when applying, you don't apply it too high, otherwise it will appear unnatural. Start towards the inner eye moving forward and the end of the tape should be slightly higher than the beginning (but not any higher or the tape may not hold). Once you have the tape in place on the lid, you can lift the skin of your eyelid and pull upwards so the skin has contact with the tape. This sounds complicated, but it's really not. Just takes some practice and again, depends on what type of shape you're aiming for. As for putting on eye make-up after applying the tape, it doesn't appear noticable when I apply a light base on the lid and a dark eyeshadow over it. Strangely enough, it makes the crease line not as noticeable. My only wish is for the company to expand the length of the tape slightly so it can reach close to the end of the eyelids, therefore possibly extending the length of usuage throughout the day. Other than that, this product is a good investment and I would recommend this to anyone out there looking to create or enhance their lids.
FYI: Be careful not to apply the tape and reapply for this may leave unsightly, red swollen marks on your eyelids. IT IS A STRONG TAPE (but not to the point where you can not remove it) so be careful not to tug it off and on so many times a day. You'll probably have to reapply a new tape after 5-7 hours depending on your skin condition (I have oily skin), but no more than that because irritation may occur. Also, every once-in-while, skip a day and don't use the tape so you can give your eyelid a day of rest. If you must insist on using this daily, use the other tape formula they have out on the market. It's in the pink packaging box and the tape is not has rigid as this one (i.e. blue box).
